Across from Israel lies a tiny country with a storied history and spectacular wonders that are unique to the rest of the world. A country so surprisingly entertaining- that it is surprising how it often falls under the radar considering how it boasts some of the most interesting and unusual sights. Along with a historical culture stemming back centuries in the Hashemite Kingdom, let me introduce you to the country of Jordan.
The capital of Jordan is Amman, a relatively advanced city in comparison with much of the Middle East. Probably the first surprise that many visitors notice is the weather; often a cool 18 degrees at night with soft winds that blow the smell of sweet shisha across the cafes scattered throughout the city.
There are not many places as relaxing and inviting then the nightlife in Amman- where youngsters and otherwise all gather and enjoy the ever present ambience of music, smoking, delicious food, and fantastic atmosphere on almost every night of the week. While there are high rates of poverty in Amman, the city center and upper-middle class neighborhoods sport most of the entertainment in the forms of malls, cafes, restaurants, and fitness clubs. Many fitness clubs have their very own cafes and restaurants- and many expats enjoy the fine dining and atmosphere surrounded by tennis courts, football fields, and the incredible view of the old historical buildings of Amman.
Many nationals look forward to their socializing at night- as it is certain the cool breeze will allow for a lovely night full of laughter and joy. It is truly exciting to be a part of such a culture; and the Jordanians are some of the most respectful and hospitable people you will ever meet.
They love expats, and will do their utmost to make you feel comfortable in their home. Once you know the hotspots in this amazing city- there are fewer places where you can just enjoy a night out with friends. And believe me, you will not find a bigger shisha culture than the one in Jordan- they love their smoking!
Jordan is also home of the spectacular Red Sea; the famous salted sea of water where no organisms lie. It is the most incredible bed of water you will ever enter; as you can float atop of the very salted sea and make sure that the salt will clean, heal (and burn!) all your cuts and openings with its natural composition.
As expected, there are a multitude of hotels around the Dead Sea sporting their own rights to beaches, pools, top class services, and ambience; along with a very popular waterpark nearby that gives you more options to have the time of your life. Many of the expats roam around this area, often staying a few days at one of the top class hotels and enjoying every moment at the Dead Sea.
There are also mud spots where many people rub mud all over the bodies and faces; a fully cleansing experience; especially after bathing in the sun and sea for a while! Once again, the Jordanian nationals are absolutely hospitable and want you to enjoy every waking moment when visiting the Dead Sea.
Ambience, history, and hospitality- all key features of this amazing country. Whether deciding on visiting the capital of Amman, the Dead Sea, or the myriad of resorts and waterparks in Jordan; you will be certain that you will be a part of the spectacular.
